Safety assessment

Deadly poisonous

Based on reviewed safety sources.

One of the most dangerous mushrooms in the region — a pure white, slender amanita in a membranous volva. Its toxins survive cooking and drying.

Identification

  • The whole fruit body pure white; cap silky when damp, satiny when dry.
  • A broad, white, sack-like volva at the stem base; ring membranous.

Safety first. This information is an educational reference, not a confirmation of an edible mushroom. Identifying fungi is difficult and mistakes can be dangerous. Never eat a mushroom unless you are completely certain of its identity, and consult a certified mycologist.
