Take 4est into the forest
4est is a field companion: capture a finding, get an on-device recognition suggestion and build a private history that syncs with this website.
Field companion
From photograph to history
Every finding can become part of something larger. 4est keeps the photograph, date, place and confirmed species together, so your history grows richer each season.
Quick Log
One tap saves the time and place without stopping the walk. Add the detail later.
Capture and confirm
Photograph, get an on-device species suggestion and confirm for yourself what to record.
Species Library
A reference of scientific names, localized common names and edibility classifications.
Your Atlas
Your findings, places and clusters on a private map that helps you choose where to go next.
Progress and collections
Confirmed species build collections, badges and milestones — all from your own data.
Personal insights
Seasons, places and species in your journal become insights that stay private.
Community
An optional Community layer with private profiles and chosen location reveal — no exact coordinates.
iPhone — in the forest
Quick capture, a recognition suggestion, geotagged photos and offline work where the signal is weak.
Web — at home
Your history, photos, collections and forest map on a large screen — the same account and the same data.
Your forest remembers
Recognition provides suggestions only and does not establish edibility or safety. Private findings, precise coordinates and photographs stay private by default.
