Based on reviewed safety sources.

Hypomyces lactifluorum is a North American fungus that parasitises Russula and Lactarius fruit bodies, turning them vivid orange and lobster-like. It does not occur in Europe, and its presence in the Latvian catalogue is questionable.

Safety first. This information is an educational reference, not a confirmation of an edible mushroom. Identifying fungi is difficult and mistakes can be dangerous. Never eat a mushroom unless you are completely certain of its identity, and consult a certified mycologist.
