Rights and credits
Image rights and permissions
This page explains the rights 4est actually holds for published images. It does not grant anyone else permission to reuse them.
1000.menu recipe photographs
Recipe text and photographs are used with permission obtained by the project owner from 1000.menu. 4est is an authorized licensee/user, not the photographer or automatic copyright owner.
Where a specific photographer or rights holder is not documented, 4est leaves that fact unknown rather than inventing an attribution. The original source link and publication author remain stored in the database and structured metadata for audit.
The permission covers 4est’s use. It is not a public licence for redistribution or reuse.
Wikimedia Commons and other open licences
The recorded licence and creator for species photographs are preserved from source metadata. When a licence requires attribution, it is available in the photo information and on the sources page.
4est branding and first-party images
The 4est brand and graphics created for the project belong to the project. Copyright in third-party material does not transfer to 4est merely because it is published on this site.
Metadata and unknown information
ImageObject metadata contains only known fields with valid HTTPS URLs. An unknown creator, copyright owner or licence is not replaced with a fabricated value.
Rights enquiries
If you are a photographer or rights holder, or wish to license source material, contact 4est with the address of the image page. Rights enquiries about original 1000.menu material can also be directed to the source publisher.
